Roy Lindsay Agle1931 - 2014Roy Lindsay Agle passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, May 17, at his residence in Orem, UT.Roy was born on Jan. 23, 1931, in Heber City, UT to Roy Agle and Martha Mae Lindsay Agle. He moved to various locations in Utah and Idaho as a boy, graduating from Montpelier High School in 1948. He joined the Navy in 1951 and spent 23 years proudly serving his country. His service included time on the U.S.S. Lawe and the U.S.S. Waddell. He was commissioned an officer in Newport, RI on Nov. 22, 1963. He retired as a Lieutenant in 1974, at which time he joined Bay Medical Center in Bay City, Mich., where he worked for 20 years as a Vice President, retiring in 1994. He earned a B.A. in Physics from the University of Utah in 1963 and an M.A. from Central Michigan University in 1985. He had many professional accomplishments and received the Personal Recognition Award from the Fellows of the American Society for Hospital Engineering in 1993.Roy met Sally Ann Howe when he was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois. They were married in Horicon, Wis., on April 23, 1955, and were later sealed for time and eternity in the Provo temple on June 22, 1973. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Roy served as President of the Bay City, Mich., branch; Bishop of the Kenosha, Wis., ward; High Councilor in the Midland, Mich., stake; and as a full-time missionary with Sally in the Cleveland and Milwaukee missions, and Chicago temple.Roy had a deep love for his family, church, and country. He diligently served all three throughout his life. He enjoyed bowling, golf, crossword puzzles, and temple work.Roy is survived by his loving wife Sally; sons, Jeff (Tyanne) of Burnsville, Minn., Brad (Kristi) of Provo, UT and Brian (Jenny) of Boxborough, Mass.; brother, Larry (Mary) of Queen Creek, Ariz.; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Andy, and his sisters Barbara Dawn and Diane.Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 23, at 10 a.m. at the Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home at 288 N Main St, Heber City, UT. Viewings will be at the same location on Thursday, May, 22, from 6:30 p.m. 8 p.m. and on Friday prior to the funeral from 9 9:30. Interment will be at Heber City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the LDS Missionary Fund or to the Boy Scouts of America.
