It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roy Matthews, who left us on July 22, 2024, in Monroe, Louisiana, United States. He was born on February 18, 1953, to his loving parents Ray and Sally Matthews.

Roy was a devoted husband to Reba Matthews, whom he married in the year 22, and together they raised five wonderful children: Mekei, Markus, Roy, Royce, and Ladonnius. He was also a doting grandfather to two precious grandchildren.

Roy attended Tallulah High School and later went on to pursue a career as a self-employed outstanding mechanic, a job he dedicated himself to until his retirement in 2021.

Among his many passions in life, Roy enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking up delicious meals, working on cars, and listening to the soulful tunes of Marvin Gay.

Although Roy may no longer be with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Roy Matthews.
