We gather here today to bid farewell to Roy "Chip" Carroll Jr., a man who lived life to the fullest, even if it meant meeting his end on a wild rollercoaster ride.
Chip was born on June 29, 1971, in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Roy Henry Carroll Sr. and Mary Lou Carroll. He married his beloved spouse, Renee "Nana Puddin" Carroll, in the year 31 and together they raised four children - Shannon, Aria-Boo, , and . He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren.
Chip attended Jonesboro GED Center high school and graduated in 2006, before continuing his studies at Arkansas State University and graduating in 2015. He pursued a career at Research Solutions Inc, where his colleagues will miss his sense of humor and dedication to his work.
In his free time, Chip could often be found dressed as a Knight in the SCA, engaging in medieval combat and revelry with like-minded individuals. He had a passion for history and a love for adventure, which ultimately led to his untimely demise.
On May 23, 2025, while visiting Silver Dollar City, Aria, Tempe, Dixie, and Maddy convinced Chip to ride Outlaw Run. Little did he know that this would be his final thrill ride, as his soul left his body in the midst of the excitement.
Though we mourn the loss of Chip, let us remember him with laughter and joy, as he would have wanted. May his spirit live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him.
