Rosemarie Thompson was born on May 30, 1964, at the U.S. Army Hospital La Chapelle in Orléans, France, to Richard J. Walker and the late Lenora E. Kidd. She was raised in the Bronx, New York, and in her later years made her home in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Rose received her education in the New York City public school system, where, in seventh grade, she met her lifelong love, Raymond Thompson. She later graduated from Wilford Academy Beauty School. Rose was a true woman of many gifts such as singing, dancing, hairstyling, drawing, and painting. She was truly a “jack of all trades.”
She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Raymond Thompson; their beloved children, Lea’Nora Thompson, Aquil Thompson, Justice Welch, and Khalil Thompson; and her cherished grandchildren, Rayshawn Sparks, Aniyah Sparks, Triston Sparks, Jeremiah Welch, Lenora Marie Welch, Elijah Welch, Elvira Welch, and Ayden Thompson.
She also leaves to treasure her memory her father, Richard Walker; her mother-in-law, Carol Haddock; her siblings Amelia Walker, Richard Walker (Debra), Vincent Facey (Eve), Nicole Savage, Holly Savage-Leveque (George), Robert Walker, Robin Walker, Bridgette Walker, Jennifer Walker, and Michael Singleton; as well as her sister-in-law Talia Thompson and brother-in-law Eric Haddock (Zerita). Rose will also be fondly remembered by many other loving family members and friends.
Rose was preceded in death by her mother, Lenora Kidd; her stepmother, Delores Walker; and her brother, John Walker.
Above all, family was the center of Rose’s world. She was a loyal and devoted wife, an amazing mother who loved her children with all her heart, and the very best grandmother to her grandbabies. She took pride in every title she held and gave her all to those she loved. Known for her sweet and genuine spirit, she gave effortlessly, always putting others first.
There are not enough words to capture how much Rose meant to those around her. To know her was truly to love her. Her love, kindness, and unwavering devotion will forever live in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed.
