Rosemarie CorbettHighland - Rosemarie Corbett, 82, a longtime resident of Highland passed away on May 31, 2017 at Albany Medical Center.Mrs. Corbett was born on April 11, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, She was the daughter of Salvatore DiFilippo and Lucia Granitelli DiFilippo.She married James J.Corbett on April 19, 1958 in Brooklyn, NY. James survives at home in Highland.Siblings, Jack DiFilippo, deceased 1998; Jacqueline DiFilippo Perrone, deceased 2014; She was a seamstress for 35 years for Adeline DeFelice in Highland; Anthony Sicari for 10 years in New Paltz.She and her family are long standing parishioner's of St.Augustine's Church in Highland.Rosemarie belonged to the Catholic Daughter's of America, Court Nilan at St. Augustine's Church for over 15 years.Rosemarie was a proud, longtime member of the Mid-Hudson Seniors as well.Both Rosemarie and her husband were members of the Ettruscans Lodge in New Paltz.Rosemarie was the mother of six children: Christine Taylor of Bremen, KY, Rosemarie Visbeck of Pleasant Valley, NY, James Corbett of Verona, NJ,Elizabeth Johnson of Rhinebeck, NY and Patricia Thomaselli of Pleasant Valley, NY. Son Matthew died on Valentines Day, 2014.She was also blessed with 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchilden, along with numerous nieces and nephews.Rosemarie loved making rosaries for catholic daughters that were distributed to distribute to all the local prisions; and for many, many years volunteering her time for St. Augustine's for numerous years with the Altar Society, volunteering in the Church Store and working the the St. Augustine's Bazaar.Calling hours are Friday June 2nd from 4-8pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. 38 Main St. Highland, NY 12528.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 3rd 10:30am at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Highland.
