Heart & Home

Rose Maxson, 55, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 25, 1968 in her sleep from unknown causes at home surrounded by her children. Rose was born on January 01, 1914.

With heavy hearts, we're here to announce the passing of Rose Maxson. Rose is survived by her son Cory, step-son Lyons, and step-daughter Raynell. She is predeceased by her husband, Troy Maxson.

Through Rose's life, she was a daughter, a wife, a mother, a lover, a fighter, and an angel sent from above. She stayed loyal to her family and acted as the glue holding her loved ones together. She was a devoted wife through thick and thin as well as the heart and home for those she held dear.

She was a mother who loved all her children as her own. She supported them equally in the pursuit of their dreams, despite the risks taken to reach them. As the heart of the household, she'd always make sure her children, husband, and brother in law were fed and looked after. She was so beloved and it showed the way her family was there for her to her last moments.

No matter the difficulties faced her way, she put her family first and did everything to ensure her children understood they were loved. She was the kind of woman to lend an ear and a shoulder when needed. An always selfless woman who asked nothing of the world but that her family would stay whole to the end.

She was a good and loyal wife. Every day she would rise to ensure the house was clean, the food was ready, and that her husband Troy was taken care of for the 18 years of their marriage. She would always do well to keep him in check and treat their children with all the love and compassion a parent can provide. When she would have to step up and give more heart and compassion, she always found more love in herself to give.

Despite troubles in her marriage with Troy, she kept heart and made sure he would owe himself to their children. She made the difficult decisions not many could have but when she settled down to make a family, she committed everything she had to it and swore to that oath. She is a widely respectable woman for the good she brought to the world, despite the troubles the world brought onto her.

Following her husband Troy’s passing, her son Cory became a famous football coach. After many years of play and a later injury, he became one of the most well respected coaches, still doing well to this day. Her step-son Lyons along with his wife, Bonnie live a life on the road touring and flaunting his amazing musical ability for the world to see. Raynell is in progress to become a teacher, now being supported by her brother Cory in the meanwhile.

As for Rose, she found hobbies in knitting and bird watching to calm the soul. She remained loyal without seeking out a new partner because despite everything, she really did love her husband through it all. The community banded together to help support her housing costs in return for being the pillar of the community and mother of three.

On the last day of her life, her family stayed by her side all of Christmas day. Everyone celebrated with happy hearts and good food. Her last known words were to tell her children how proud she was, "And if I had the chance, I would be happy to be your mom again".

May such an angel return to heaven where she came from and continue to protect us all from above. A memorial service to celebrate Rose's life will be held on December 28th at her local church. It would be greatly appreciated that everyone attending may bring roses to build a bouquet from all the hearts she has touched.
