Kornaus, RoseRose (Maroszek) Kornaus, 89, a longtime Pulaski area resident, and more recently Baileys Harbor, passed away on April 1, 2017, at a Madison hospital, from sudden complications of a recent illness.Rose was born on August 29, 1927, in Hofa Park, Wisconsin, the firstborn child of Stanley and Catherine (Wisniewski) Maroszek. She grew up on her parents' farm, working through her school years, and graduated from Pulaski High School.On August 30, 1952, Rose married Alvin Kornaus at St Stanislaus Church in Hofa Park. Together they raised four children, while both worked to support their family.Rose was an active and longtime member of Assumption B.V.M. Parish in Pulaski. She was involved in many parish activities and organizations throughout the years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #337, Pulaski. "Rose was a kind soul who never wanted to be a bother to anyone, but was always thoughtful of others. She was loved by everyone who knew her." She was "the best mom ever!"Rose enjoyed sharing her time with family and friends. She loved the simple things in life: reading, her rosary, custard, peanut buster parfaits, Friday fish fries, tending to her roses, fishing with family, cruising through downtown Pulaski on bicycles with Alvin. She was an avid Packers fan. After retirement, Rose and Alvin enjoyed traveling together: simple car trips, bus tours to various locations, both near and far. Highlights included trips to Poland, Switzerland, and the ever popular, Branson. Rose is survived by her youngest sister, Delores, Green Bay; her four children: Paul, Portage, Dave, Madison, Mary Kaye (Paul) Gray, Baileys Harbor, and Mark (Kelly), Oregon WI; grandchildren: Katie, Madison, Paul J, St Paul, MN; Devin, Sun Prairie; Chelsey, Brogan, Ariana, all of Green Valley, Samantha Gray, Shanghai, China, Matthew (Sara) Gray, Indianapolis, Peter Gray, Lexington, KY, Madalyn Gray, Baileys Harbor, Aaron (Melissa), St Paul, Daniel (Kathleen), Brodhead, Andrew (Kelsey), Cambridge; and two great grandchildren: Mac and JoJo.Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, who passed away in 1999; her parents; two brothers: Joseph and Harry; and a sister, Phyllis. Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski, with Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M. presiding. Visitation will precede the Mass, commencing at 10:00 a.m. in the church, followed by interment in the parish cemetery.
