Rosalie A. McConnellAGE: 92 • HockessinRosalie Andrews McConnell, 92, Hockessin, DE, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2017 at Cokesbury Village; her home for the past 26 years. She was born on August 5, 1924 in Dayton, TN and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She worked briefly in Washington, DC during the war and as a reporter for the Chattanooga Times. She married Edward Johnston McConnell Jr. in 1949 and they were transferred to Wilmington with DuPont in 1960. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Jr. She is survived by her sons, Edward III (Jeanne), Andrew (Nancy) and Samuel (Chris); her grandchildren Christin (Carey), Emily (Todd), Kelly, Andrew, Mac; her great-grandson Ryker and her "special son" Bryan Abrams. A memorial service will be held at Cokesbury Village, Hockessin, DE on Friday, July 28th at 2 pm. Burial will be in Chattanooga, TN.
