This obituary is administered by:

Roosevelt Jackson, aged 80, passed away on June 24th, 2023, peacefully in his sleep at his home in Oklahoma City, with his family by his side. He was born in Topeka, Kansas, on August 7th, 1942, to Sarah and John Jackson.

He grew up in a loving family with his sisters, Lucille and Mary, and brother, William. His parents instilled in him a strong work ethic, perseverance, and faith in God, which he carried with him throughout his life.

Roosevelt graduated from Topeka High School in 1960 and went on to study at Washburn University. After completing his studies, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for over two decades. He was a decorated veteran, receiving several awards and medals, including the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal.

After retiring from the Air Force, Roosevelt settled in Oklahoma City, where he met and married his beloved wife, Sophie. They were married for fifty years and had three children: Richard, Angela, and Jonathan.

Roosevelt was a devoted husband and father, always putting his family first. He loved spending time with them, sharing stories, and imparting wisdom. He was a loving and supportive grandfather to his six grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

In his spare time, Roosevelt enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and watching sports, especially the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was also an active member of his church, where he served as a deacon and volunteered his time and resources to help those in need.

Roosevelt was a man of great character, integrity, and humility. He treated everyone with respect and kindness and had a positive impact on everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched during his lifetime.

A memorial service will be held in his honor at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.

Rest in peace, Roosevelt Jackson.
