Ronnie J. Way, age 76, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Per his wishes, his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. Ronnie was born on September 16, 1940 in Snyder, Texas to James Elbert and Wynama (Shackelford) Way. He married Gloria Sue Reynolds on November 14, 1981 in Sweetwater, Texas. He worked as a self - employed contractor and also worked as a correctional officer before retiring. He is survived by his wife, Sue Way of Sweetwater, Texas, two sons, Daniel Way and Jason Way, daughter, Pamala Way Graham, brothers, David Way and wife Sheila, Tony Way and wife Pam, and Johnny Way and wife Cynthia, sisters, Ada Rea Hopkins and husband Kenneth, and Brenda Tuley, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, step-son, Randy Birkla and wife Sherri, and step-daughters, Sharon Hernandez and husband Louie, and Ramona Miller and husband Bo. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Elbert and Wynama Way, brothers, Timothy Way, and step-son, Chris Birkla.
