Hopper, 64, of Niles, passed away at his residence, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.He was born on January 28, 1953, to John and Gwen (Fisher) Hopper in Niles.On November 9, 1974, Ron married Penny Krysiak at a ceremony in Niles. Ron was a machinist for over twenty-five years at Delta Machine. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed coaching baseball, playing softball, golfing, horseshoes, watching NASCAR, as well as the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Ron's family was always very important to him. Ron was a great listener and always provided sound advice and honesty. Ron was always willing to lend a helping hand or go the extra mile for anyone and everyone.He was preceded in death by his father, John Hopper, and brother, Robert Hopper.Ron is survived by his wife, Penny Hopper of Niles; his mother, Gwen Hopper of Niles; four sons, Joshua (Amy) Hopper of Mishawaka, Jason (Ginger) Hopper of Granger, Thom (Emily) Hopper of Niles and Michael Hopper of Niles; nine grandchildren; a sister, Patty (Pete) Masten of Niles; and brothers, Dave (Peggy) Hopper of Niles and Rick (Connie) Hopper of Dowagiac.A celebration of Ron's life will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 1:00 pm with a time of visitation beginning at 11:00 am.Memorial contributions may be made in Ron's memory to the Humane Society.Memories of Ron may be left for the family at www.BrownFuneralHomeNiles.com.Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Niles.
