We regret to inform you of the passing of Romique Nasser Stokes, born on April 7, 1978, and living in East Des Moines, Iowa. Romique, the beloved child of Terry and Alberta, leaves behind a grieving spouse, Robert, whom they married in the year 2008.

Romique had a busy life raising their five children, who brought them immense joy and chaos. Their names, however, shall remain a mystery. Additionally, Romique leaves behind one grandchild, whom we will not name for privacy reasons.

From their time at Dowling Catholic High School, where they graduated in 1990, to their studies at Harvard Medical School, where they graduated in 2004, Romique was a shining star in the medical field. As a Pediatric Surgeon, they brought comfort and healing to countless children and their families.

Outside of work, Romique enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing sports, and spreading love and kindness to everyone they met. Their passion for life was infectious, and they will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing them.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Romique's memory by spreading kindness and love in the world. Romique's legacy will live on in the hearts of those they touched throughout their too-short life.
