Roman Cortez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and renowned fisherman, passed away on November 28, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on June 19, 1971, to his father Omar Cortez.

He married his high school sweetheart, Candelaria, in 1991, and together they raised three children, Sergio, Norma, and Kevin. Roman was a loving grandfather to 10 grandchildren.

Roman had a passion for fishing and could often be found on the shores of Lake Mead with a rod and reel in hand. His love for the sport was infectious, and he passed on his knowledge and skills to his children and grandchildren.

Despite his untimely passing due to cardiac complications, Roman will be remembered for his humor, kindness, and his knack for reeling in the big catch. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
