Rolland E. (Ron) SagleZANESVILLE: Rolland E. (Ron) Sagle, 87, passed away peacefully at his home at 3480 Maysville Pike at 7:30 p.m. on November 17, 2016 with Nancy by his side. He was born on April 25, 1929 in Ironspot to the late William and Daisy Sagle. He was an avid fisherman, mushroom hunter and bluegrass listener. He is survived by his ex-wife Nancy Sagle, who became his caregiver 2 1/2 years ago when he was diagnosed with cancer. Also surviving are two sons Daniel Holdcroft and Chris Cannon; a daughter Johanna (Mark) Hedges. Two grandsons Zack Holdcroft and Corey Hedges; two granddaughters Erin Adolph and his pride and joy Kristina (Bryan) Handshy. Three great-grandchildren Cannon and Everlei Adolph, and Conlee Handshy (18 months of age) who has cystic fibrosis. Ron's whole demeanor would change when Conlee would walk in and say "Hi Poppy". He became an advocate for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on Conlee's behalf. Also surviving are three sisters Rose VanWey of Roseville, Kathleen (Wayne) Taylor of Florida, and Bertha Ransbottom of Colorado. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers Raymond, William, Ralph, Samuel, and John Sagle and by one sister Elizabeth Allen. Ron was a member of the Operating Engineers. He was the founder and owner of Sagle Auto Electric, which he ran for many years He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the American Legion Post #726.
