Roger HirdmanUrbandaleRoger D. Hirdman, 84, of Urbandale and formerly of Story City died June 4, 2017 at University Park Nursing and Rehab in Des Moines. Graveside services will be Saturday July 1 at 10 am at Mamrelund Cemetery in rural Randall. A time of fellowship will follow after the service at the Story City American Legion.Roger was born on May 16, 1933 in Edgerton, WY to David and Louise (Ponsness) Hirdman. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a machinist and mechanic for many years.He is survived by his son, Bill Hirdman of Placeville, CA; a daughter, Rhonda; two grandchildren, Brian John Hirdman and Tia Marie Hoctor; three great grandchildren, Dalton, Michael and Matthew; a sister, Nola Jean Hirdman of Story City and a brother, Paul Hirdman of St. Paul, MN.Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is assisting the family with arrangements.
