Rodney Thomas CatesAbileneRodney Thomas Cates passed away in Tyler, Texas on Dec. 17, 2016 at the age of 77. Rodney is survived by his son, Rodney Chance Cates. Rodney was born on Sept. 30, 1939 in McCamey, Texas to Rodney William Cecil Cates and Mary Frances McGrew. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1957. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, March 3, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at Breaker's Sports Bar 1874 S. Clack St. Abilene, Texas 79605.
