LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Rodger Short, 60, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in Las Cruces, NM. Although gone he will be forever loved, forever missed and forever in our hearts.He was born on March 1,1956 the son of the late Ommer "Mib" and Willie Short. He is survived by his daughter, Layla Howard (Jeremy Troxtell) of Denison, TX; one son, Shane Short of Pottsboro, TX; one sister, Barbara Anderson (Chester Anderson) of Elephant Butte, NM; one brother, Jimmy Short of Truth or Consequences, NM and his beloved grandchildren, Ayden Howard and Ainsley Troxtell of Denison, TX.Additionally, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lori Short; three brothers, Ommer Short, Sammy Short, and Ricky Short; and his sister, Melba Short-Craig.Rodger enjoyed spending time with his family. He was very social and enjoyed the company of his many friends. In his younger days, he enjoyed riding horses, bull riding and camping at the lake. Rodger will be greatly missed by his family and friends.A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Hagerman Cemetery in Pottsboro, TX.
