Roby Ellis Edwards, 80, of Galax, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on Aug. 31, 1936, in West Virginia to Jeff and Virgie Burcham Edwards. Survivors include his wife, Loretta Patton Edwards of Galax; daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Jimmy Hall of Elk Creek; son and daughter-in-law, Mack and Missy Edwards of Galax; three grandchildren; sister, Viola Lineberry of High Point, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held Dec. 12, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Patton Cemetery with Marvin Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Patton Cemetery Fund, 1440 Pattons Mill Lane, Galax Va. 24333.
