ROBERTO CASILLAS WHITING, IN Roberto Casillas, 65 of Whiting, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Chicago. Survived by his wife, Yolanda Duarte Casillas; father of Robert (Julie), Andres, Yolanda (Zandel DeJesus), Michael and the late Eric; grandfather of Natalie, Christopher, Alekzander and Ava. Roberto was one of eleven children of the late Jesus and Luisa Casillas and an uncle to many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 9:30 AM at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Whiting with the Rev. Jerome P. Stack, C.PP.S., officiating; cremation to follow; visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM; parish wake service at the funeral home on Friday at 4:30 PM. Roberto Casillas was born on August 20, 1951 in Valle de Guadalupe, Michoacan, Mexico and was a longtime Whiting resident. He was a retiree of the former American Steel Foundry, East Chicago with a service of 20 years. Roberto was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bulls fan, he enjoyed soccer and was an excellent billiard player.
