Robert Thomas Pontuso of New Bedford, MA, formerly of Newburyport, MA, passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on July 20, 2017 after a sudden illness.

Robert was born in Dorchester, MA on October 13, 1952 to the late Charles Pontuso and Beatrice (Boudreau) Pontuso. He grew up in New Bedford, MA and graduated from New Bedford High School in 1970. He graduated from Northeastern University with a BA in Finance in 1978. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam War, serving from 1971-1974 as a medic. Robert enjoyed a

Robert enjoyed a 30 year career in the investment business. Since 2003, he had been working at Boston Financial Management. Prior to joining BFM, Robert worked at Woodstock Corporation, The Boston Company, Cowan & Company, William D. Witter and Eaton & Howard Inc.

Throughout his adult life Robert enjoyed tennis, golf, fishing, and boating. He is survived by his two children, Christine Schorer of Andover, MA and Kristen Pontuso of Brooklyn, NY; his former wife, Janice Mosher, of Newburyport; and his beloved, Maggie Sampson.
