Pooley, 84, of Nyssa, Oregon passed away in the care of his loving family November 4, 2014, in Boise, Idaho. He was born on March 11, 1930 in Dupree, South Dakota. He attended school in Nampa, Idaho, graduating from Nampa High. Bob loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with his family engaged in those activities that involved hard work and a sense of accomplishment. All that knew Bob from the times that he raced his car "Giddy Up Go" at Meridian Speedway in the 60's and 70's knew him for his great passion and ability to fix anything that had wheels. He loved his time when he owned the ARCO station in downtown Nampa and felt a great sense of community, often trading out his mechanic abilities to help those that were not fortunate enough to be blessed with his outstanding mechanical aptitude. He moved from that location to open up the Shell station which was on the corner of 12th and Dewey continuing to provide a much needed service to the community. His wife Muriel was a locally renowned artist and Bob enjoyed packing up the RV and attending art shows across the western states, a classic woodworker, Bob spent many a night making frames for his wife's work.Bob enjoyed the mountains of Cascade Idaho and with his wife Muriel purchased a lot there in 1966. He used his skills to build a beautiful Cabin which stands as a testament to his hard work and dedication to accomplishing any task he set his mind to. This cabin stands as a testament and is being used by future generations and those to come to enjoy the fabulous natural wonders that surround us daily.Bob leaves a legacy with his family and extended family that he was always willing to help those less fortunate, he would ensure people had what they needed to enjoy a good life. He taught his children and grandchildren the value of hard work and instilled a work ethic second to none that will be passed from generation to generation, multiple woodcutting expeditions and dirt excavations were always his favorite.Bob loved the punch line of a good joke and would more often than not be the person playing the joke, followed by his boisterous laughter, and a huge smile for all to see and hear.
