Robert "Bugsy" V. MoranBeacon - Robert V. Moran, a lifelong resident of Beacon, passed away on April 23, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 64.Bob was born on November 3, 1952 in Cold Spring, the son of the late Richard and Jane Moscato Moran. On October 19, 2008 Bob married Robin Gronniger. Robin survives at home. Bob retired as an accountant from IBM. Bugsy was a member of St. Rocco's Society in Beacon and the Beacon Elks Lodge #1493. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his step-daughter, Rhiannon Thurman and her husband, Eric and their children, Grace and Trinity of Dallas, TX; his sister, Linda Jane Katountas and her husband, Jordan of Beacon; his sisters-in-law, Jill Cavenee and her husband, Webster of San Diego, CA and Kim Gronniger of Virginia Beach, VA; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 26 at 12 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon. The family will receive their friends following mass from 1 to 3 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.Memorial donations in memory of Bob may be made to the , www.cancer.org/donate.
