It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert McKinley Vann, Jr. on July 16, 2023. Robert was born on April 20, 1979, in Los Angeles, California, to the late Robert McKinley Vann, Sr. and Deborah L. Ford. Robert was fun loving, outgoing and touched the lives of many during his time on this Earth. His departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will forever shine bright in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Growing up in Mobile, he developed a deep appreciation for the diversity and richness of his surroundings, forging lifelong connections with the people he encountered. He possessed an innate ability to make everyone around him feel comfortable and loved, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert McKinley Vann, Sr. and Deborah L. Ford.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories, his children Micheala Leonard-Vann, Deborah Vann, Dana Vann, Alyssa Simmons and Lathan M. Vann, one brother Dale (Courtney) Chase Sr., three sisters Victoria (Rashi) Pines, Shamiah Fields, and Kalonia Jennings, a devoted aunt Barbara Smith, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a community of friends whose lives were forever changed by his presence.
