He was born on July 15, 1925 in Harrisburg, to the late John Peter and Catherine Cecelia (Chambers) Atticks.Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Robert C. Jr., and Sherry Atticks, Hallstead; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Danko, Dupont, Sherry and William Gallagher, Stroudsburg, Patricia and Raymond Lasher, Montrose; step-son, and his wife, Eddie and Joyce Shetter, Middletown; 11 grandchildren, Robert III (Tina) Atticks, Heather Atticks, Debbie Weidow, Thomas Wasley, Gary, Holly and Mary Atticks, Aubrey (Ryan) Guiton, Jennifer (Ben) Hoover, Julie (John) Sellitto, Chad Lasher and fiancé Liz Hess; brother-in-law, Clyde Wellman, New Milford; sister-in-law, Betty Atticks, Shippensburg; special friend, JoAnne Takacs, Meshoppen; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and faithful companions, Maggie, Lily and Gracie Jane.Predeceasing Robert is his wife, Sally (Passmore) Atticks; brother, John Peter Atticks; sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Joseph Meehan; brother-in-law and spouse, Bud and Clara Jane Passmore; sister-in-law and spouse, Kathryn and Wayne Sterling; and sister-in-law, Betty Wellman. Bob was a WW II Navy veteran a past Post Commander at VFW Post 9639, Shellsville. He retired after 35 years from Fisher Tank Company, Chester. He spent his retirement traveling throughout the U.S. and visited 49 states, only missing Alaska. He also enjoyed gardening and he loved to watch the wildlife while sitting on the deck.A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, with Father Rev. Paul Towers of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Montrose, officiating. Interment will be in the South Montrose Cemetery. Visitations will be from 12 Noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.Donations in Robert's memory can be made True Friends Animal Welfare Center, 16332 SR 706, Montrose, PA 18801; or to the , 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
