Robert Washington, beloved husband, son, and boxing trainer extraordinaire, passed away on December 15, 2025, in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States. He was born on April 8, 1953, to Henry and Elise Washington.

Robert married the love of his life, Lauren, in 1997, and spent many happy years by her side. Although they didn't have any children of their own, Robert poured his heart and soul into mentoring the young boxers he trained, treating them like his own.

After a long and successful career in boxing, Robert retired in 2004 and devoted his time to helping the Church chess team organization. He had a passion for chess and loved nothing more than spending hours strategizing and playing with his friends.

Robert will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious smile, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He brought joy and laughter wherever he went and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
