ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - Rita J. Korbakis was born on June 14, 1928 in Chicago to Christopher and Lottie (nee Swiadek) Cieslak. She died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Arlington Heights. Rita worked as a hostess for Hackney's in Wheeling. She was a avid cook and loved to entertain with family and friends. Rita loved to spend time with her family, especially, her granddaughter, nieces and nephews, and was loved by all. Rita is survived by her loving husband, of 26 years, Howard; daughter, Darlene Lasota; grandchildren, Dina Tomchek and Steven Piasecki; sister, Irma Hrycyk. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Diane and Donna; her parents; and brother-in-law, John Hrycyk. Visitation Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Funeral Mass 9:00 am, Friday, December 2, 2016 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 729 Grand Canyon St., Hoffman Estates, IL. Interment is private.
