He was 85.He was born on Feb. 2, 1932 in Ojo de Agua de Latillas Mpo. de Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico to Sofia Franco and Viviano Hernandez. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Socorro Hernandez Ortiz, his six sons — Ruben, John, Eddie, Jorge, Noe and Rene — his 9 daughters — Irma, Elia, Rosario, Socorro, Lupe, Alma, Alicia, Esmeralda, Martha — 38 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He migrated to the U.S. as part of the Bracero program and later became a U.S. resident. From humble beginnings working in the fields of the Central Valley, he then spent his last days taking care of his home garden. A Rosary and memorial service will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel. His funeral service will take place Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 7:45 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Visalia immediately followed by a graveside service. -Spanish-Rigoberto Hernandez Franco de 85 años falleció el sábado 17 de junio en su hogar en Ivanhoe. Nació el 2 de febrero del 1932 a padres Sofía Franco y Viviano Hernández en Ojo de Agua de Latillas Mpo. de Tepatitlan, Jalisco, MexicoDeja a su esposa de 62 años de matrimonio, Socorro Hernández Ortiz, y a sus 6 hijos — Rubén, John, Jorge, Eddie, Noe, y Rene — a sus 9 hijas — Irma, Elia, Rosario, Socorro, Lupe, Alma, Alicia, Esmeralda, y Martha — a 36 nietos y 8 biznietos. El inmigro a los Estados Unidos como parte del programa de braceros y después se hizo residente permanente. Vino de principios humildes trabajando en los campos del Valle Central y paso sus últimos días atendiendo a su jardín. Un rosario en su honor se dará acabo el viernes 23 de junio a las 6 de la tarde en Miller Memorial Chapel en Visalia. El sepelio se dará acabo el sábado a las 7:45 de la mañana en la iglesia Católica Sagrada Familia (Holy Family) de Visalia.
