Richard (Ricky) Wayne Abshire, born on July 14, 1966, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away on November 28, 2024. Ricky was adopted, which was an experience that shaped his understanding of family and love throughout his life. His four children survive him: Justin Chambers, Leslie Abshire, Reilly Jackson (Abshire), and Lindsey Logan (Bertrand), as well as three grandchildren. Ricky was a skilled pipe fitter and welder. Friends appreciated his humor, describing him as a talker with a story to tell. Ricky loved to grill and cook cajun dishes. He was also a fan of country music. Unfortunately, Ricky struggled with issues related to alcohol dependency, which ultimately led to his passing. Despite his struggles, Ricky would like to be known for the joy and hope he found in his companionship with his dog Boopa and the memories they made together. There will be no funeral services.
