Richard W. Isaacson RACINE – Richard W. Isaacson, 95, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Pine Brook Pointe in Burlington. He was born on the family farm in Sturtevant on August 24, 1919, the son of the late Marcus and Anna (nee: Pederson) Isaacson. Richard was united in marriage to Jeannette E. McGregor on June 8, 1946. He had been an active and lifelong member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, including serving as Deacon. Richard was proud to be a Vet who served in the United States Army during World War II. He was part of the 32nd Red Arrow Infantry Division, serving in the South Pacific. Returning home after the war he was a dairy farmer until his retirement. Richard was very active in his community including Superintendent of Dairy with the Racine County Fair, Director of the Racine County Ag Society and Yorkville-Mt. Pleasant Insurance Co. When he was younger he enjoyed softball, where he met his wife. He also enjoyed reading and a good game of Sheepshead, bowling and golf. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke and tease, especially with his grandchildren. Surviving are his children, Alice (Dennis ‘Shrub’) Busch of Burlington, Marc (Debbie) Isaacson of Sturtevant, Ric Isaacson of Burlington and Dale (Peggy) Isaacson of Malone; nine grandchildren, Jake (Toni Martin) Isaacson, Julie and Jeff Busch, Sarah (Bill) Erickson, Jason (Chastity) Bennicoff, Jenni (David) Rothe and Karissa (Tim) Larson, Beth (Dustin) Brunn, and Becky Isaacson, seven great-grandchildren, Zeke Isaacson, Liam and Bedelia Bennicoff, Isaac and Emily Erickson and Noah and Ellie Rothe; sisters-in-law, Delores Isaacson, Genevieve Goldsworthy, Betty Proost and brother-in-law, Bob McGregor. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette on April 22, 2008, daughter-in-law, Sue Isaacson, great-grandsons, Aidan Bennicoff and Weston Busch, brothers and sisters-in-law, Milt (Angie), Adie(Mary), Merle (Hillary), Bob (Evelyn) and Paul Isaacson, Fran McGregor and Nancy Kupper, and sister and brothers-in-law, Ione (Warren) Oertel, Merrill Goldsworthy and Bob Proost. Funeral services will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 2219 Washington Ave. on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. and at the church on Monday, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Richard will be laid to rest next to Jeannette at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Vets Roll, Finnegans RV Center, 1777 Gardner St., S Beloit, IL 61080, Racine County Agricultural Society or to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
