Richard R. WilsonRichard R. Wilson, 84, of Mahwah, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, August 10th. Beloved husband of Judith Wilson, he was born on February 17th, 1933 to the late Harold and Helen Wilson, raised in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ and graduated from Ridgewood High School, Colgate University and the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.After serving in the
Army at Ft. Dix, Richard took over ownership of the historic Ho-Ho-Kus Inn and presided over a successful 30-year run, earning the restaurant awards and acclaim as one of New Jersey's top dining destinations.A devoted family man, Richard was married to his wife Judy for 59 years. They met in New York City and, after a courtship that included late nights in New York's best jazz clubs, wed in 1957.In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his brother Lee of River Vale, NJ, and his sons: Michael and his wife Gina of Ridgefield, CT, Daniel of San Francisco, CA and David of Darien, CT. He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren Dana, Scott and Cole Wilson.Richard loved big band jazz, was an enthusiastic golfer, and enjoyed photography and travel, including European adventures, cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean and trips with friends throughout the United States.
