Richard Jamroz Obituary

Feb 18, 1935 - May 16, 2019

This obituary is administered by:
Jamroz, RichardRichard Jamroz, 82, Kronenwetter, died on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at his home. He was born on February 18, 1935 in the Town of Guenther, the son of Peter and Rose (Purull) Jamroz. His father died when Richard was two years old, leaving Rose to raise the family alone on their Guenther farm. On May 18, 1957, Fr. Joseph Cysewski united Richard and Regina Fochs in marriage at St. Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee. She survives. After graduating from high school, Richard spent 3 years in the U.S. Army, spending time in Kansas, Virginia, Alaska and Seattle before returning home to Mosinee. Upon returning home, Richard worked for the Mosinee Paper Mill, retiring in 1997 after working for 45 years. He spent time working in the yard and store room. Richard was a founding member of the Kronenwetter Voluntary Fire Department. He retired after 18 years of service. He loved his children and was very active in their extra-curricular activities. He was a Boy Scout leader and helped to shape and build winning pinewood derby cars. When he wasn't participating in their activities, he was a dedicated spectator attending all of his six children's sporting events rain or shine. Richard was a mechanic. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix. This came in handy with six children who often created a need to fix many things! Richard also loved his automobiles, especially Oldsmobile's and Chevrolet's. But it was his first vehicle, a 1947 Dodge pick-up (restored by his son, Rick), that was his pride and joy. It received numerous awards for its restoration quality, but before it was restored, it was remembered fondly by his children for its innovative open floor board feature. Richard loved to trout fish. There wasn't a trout steam that he couldn't land either a brook or brown trout. It is somewhat ironic that whenever he took the kids fishing, he was the only one that came home with a fish. Above all, Richard taught his children to honor God, have obedience, respect others, and to work hard and good things will happen. Despite the fact that he grew up without a father, he was a great role model and taught all of his children how to be great parents, he will always be remembered for this. Richard is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Regina, Mosinee; two daughters, Mary (Dan) Helgeson, Rothschild, Joan (Ken) Kozik, Chili, four sons; Wayne (Nancy) Jamroz, Clinton, Rick (Julie) Jamroz, Mosinee, Steve (Brenda) Jamroz, Neenah, and Bruce (Amy) Jamroz, Mosinee. He is also survived by granddaughters; Rebecca (Justin Warren) Helgeson, Brianna (Tyler) Schield, Amanda Kozik, Bailly Jamroz, Anna Jamroz, Maddie Jamroz, and Evie Jamroz, grandsons; Bill Helgeson, David Helgeson, Brett Jamroz, Ryan Jamroz, Jonah Jamroz, and Brandon Jamroz. He is also survived by two great grandchildren; Emmett Warren and Aiden Schield.Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Przybylski will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee.
