Richard and Rosemary Todd Marksbarydied 10/12/16 and 10/14/16 in Austin, TX. Richard was born on 5/24/25 to Arthur and Mable (Breedlove) Marksbary. Rosemary was born on 1/10/26 to Russell and Elizabeth (Warren) Todd in Indianapolis, IN. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Junior.Richard and Rosemary were Ben Davis graduates. Richard volunteered for the Marine Corps serving on the USS Yorktown as part of the anti-aircraft gun crew; as part of the initial occupying force after Japan's surrender; he was in Tokyo Harbor when the surrendering papers were signed. Rosemary worked on the home front as many wartime brides had done.After leaving the Marine Corps, Richard and Rosemary's three children were born while Richard attended DePauw University. After graduating with a BA in education, Richard taught and coached in southern Indiana while Rosemary stayed home raising their 3 children. Their Children finished their primary school Mooresville, IN and Richard taught and coached while Rosemary worked at LS Ayres and Indiana State House.After completing his MS in Education, Richard and Rosemary moved to Aransas Pass, TX where he was an Administrator at Aransas Pass, Flour Bluff and Port Isabel. Rosemary worked in bookkeeping at school's business offices. After retiring, they moved to Palestine, TX.Richard and Rosemary celebrated 72 years of marriage. They are survived by their 3 children: Milinda Greer, Husband Steve; Mark Marksbary, Wife Pam; Marsha Bayles, Husband Bill; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.Rosemary is also survived by the brother, Robert Todd and Sister, Ethel Mae Montgomery.The family would like to express many thanks to Shelly Robichaux RN for her excellent care and compassion.
