Rhonda Suzanne Payne, age 61, of Corning, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. She was born on June 13, 1955 in Corning, the daughter of Roland E. and Helen Irene (Velie) Horton. She married Lynn Payne in 2002 at the Bradford Baptist Church.Rhonda was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother and she was a former member of the Monterey Baptist Church where she was active in the youth group in her younger years. She had a special faith in God and after high school she enrolled to the Bible School in Clarks Summit, Pa.She is survived by her husband, Lynn, daughters, Danielle Hill of Corning and Nicole Brunet of Syracuse, her father, Roland E. (Marilyn) Horton of Vestal, step sons, Ryan (Sara) Payne of Campbell and Joshua (Nicole) Payne of Cameron, step daughter, Samantha Payne of Campbell, brothers, Wayne N. (Linda) Horton of Breesport and Bradley A. Horton of Painted Post, sister, Kim M. (Lawrence) Dykes of Watkins Glen, nine grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Rhonda was predeceased by her mother, Helen I. Horton in 2003.Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 East Pulteney Street, Corning, on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A celebration of Rhonda's life will follow there at 6:00 pm.
