Renee Cooper, born on June 26, 1989, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on March 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Micheal Smith, whom she married in 2005, and their two children, Aaliyah Smith and Ashley Smith.

Renée leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, as well as 10 adoring grandchildren. She was the beloved daughter of Bobby Smith and Gwendalyn Bridges.

Renée was a dedicated student, graduating from West Florence High School in 2009 and continuing her studies at Clafin Micbas, where she graduated in 2010. She worked at Brown’s First Breakfast for many years before retiring in 2022.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Renée was an active member of the Coach Basketball organization, where she was awarded for her contributions in Helping, Fixing Plates, and Cleaning. Her passion for the game of basketball was unmatched.

Renée will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her infectious smile and kind heart will forever be remembered. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a cancer research organization in Renée's memory.
