The man of all men
The world lost a legendary character on May 29, 2023 - Raymond "Ray" Steward, born on January 9, 1958, in Mobile, Alabama, passed away at the age of 65. His passing left us all with a sense of emptiness, a void that can never be filled.
Ray was quite a unique personality, to say the least. He had a way of making everyone around him laugh, whether they wanted to or not. His sense of humor knew no boundaries, and he never failed to have a witty remark ready for any situation. He was a true master of puns, dad jokes, and one-liners, and we're sure that even Peter at the Pearly Gates couldn't help but chuckle at his jokes.
Ray was known for his love of food, especially anything that involved high levels of grease and cholesterol. He firmly believed that the key to a long and happy life was embracing the simple things, like fried chicken and bacon. We're sure that the food truck and fried chicken restaurant industry will never be able to repay Ray for all the business he gave them over the years.
Despite his love of unhealthy food, Ray had a heart of gold. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it was fixing a neighbor's car or helping a friend move. He had a way of making even the most arduous tasks seem like fun, and his positive attitude was infectious.
Ray is survived by his wife of 35 years, Betty, his two children, Jimmy and Cindy, and his beloved dog, Rufus. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy will live on through the laughter and joy he brought to the world. Rest in peace, Ray - we hope there's a big plate of fried chicken waiting for you in heaven.
You can to the family or in memory of Ray Weekes.
