Randy L. GodwinOf Des Moines, IowaRandy L. Godwin, 64, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at Mercy Hospital. Randy was born on June 24, 1953 to Paul Godwin and Dixie Helmers in Des Moines, Iowa.Randy retired from Firestone and drove school bus part-time for DSM Public Schools. He enjoyed selling goods at flea markets, wheelin' and dealin' and as he would say, "livin' the dream." Randy is survived by his wife, Elaine Godwin; son, Jesse Godwin; daughters, Mindy (Mark) Davis and Sara Godwin; brother, Rick Godwin; and grandkids, Halle, Keslyn, Kyleigh, and Easton.Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Dixie (Bud) Helmers; father, Paul Godwin; and his little dog, Lucy.Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with funeral service to begin at 12 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines.
