Ramon Oliver Obituary

Jul 26, 1954 - Mar 29, 2015

This obituary is administered by:

OLIVER, Ramon July, 26, 1954 – March 29, 2015 Ramon Oliver, 60, passed away unexpectedly on March 29, 2015 in Scottsdale, AZ, while attending Giants spring training. He was a tried and true Giants fan until the very end. Ramon was born in Sebastopol, CA on July, 26, 1954 to parents, Roberto and Juanita Oliver. He lived his early years in Guerneville, CA where he attended local schools. In 1964 his family moved to Forestville, CA where he attended Forestville Union Elementary school and El Molino High School. He graduated from El Molino in 1972. After graduation Ramon took a position with AT&T in Ukiah, CA where he most recently resided. He retired from AT&T after 39 years of dedicated service. Ramon had many interests in life. He loved to take extended trips with friends on his Harley (He owned three of them), and he enjoyed fishing, camping, the outdoors, and the SF Giants. He took many great trips on his motorcycles the first of which was when he was 19 years old and he and three friends took a three month cross country trip where they traveled over 15,000 miles. Many great memories came from this trip and he always enjoyed sharing them. He once took a fishing trip with several friends deep into Alaska where they were able to watch the bears catch salmon every evening in front of their cabin. The joke was that the salmon were so plentiful that “even Ramon could catch one”. Ramon was a friend, brother, uncle and mentor to many people. He made friends easily and often. He was ebullient, jovial, outgoing, and always had a story or a joke to tell. He cared deeply for people and would always lend a helping hand if needed. Once you knew Ramon you were his brother, and he was instantly an uncle to your children. He was generous to a fault which affectionately earned him the nick name “Carte Blanche”. He will be greatly missed by many people. Ramon is preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and Roberto Oliver, and younger brother, Ruben. He is survived by brothers, Bob and Jack (Diane) Oliver, two nieces, two grandnieces and a goddaughter. He is also survived by his longtime companion and sweetheart, DeDe Dimas.

You can to the family or in memory of Ramon Oliver.
