Ramon "Mon" Mesquita, Sr., 67, of San Jose Blvd, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the West Funeral Home Chapel (cremation will follow). Pastor Ronald McDuff of Jesus Name Tabernacle will officiate. Services have been entrusted to West Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed at westfuneralhomellc.com Ramon was born on May 21, 1950 in Sierra Rica, México to Pedro and Manuela (Morales) Mesquita. He enjoyed carpentry, gardening, hunting, and was a real "go getter"! Never the kind of man to sit still doing nothing. He enjoyed listening and singing to music and reading his bible. Ramon was a very passionate and loving man, father, son, brother, husband, and friend. Ramon is survived by his wife Christina of the home; son Raymond Mesquita Jr. and wife Maribel of Roswell, NM; daughters: Maryann Mesquita, Marsha Sanchez and husband Leo and Carolyn Gonzalez all of Las Cruces, NM; step-son Samuel Melendrez Jr. of Carlsbad; father Pedro Mesquita of Lake Arthur, NM; siblings: Jesse Mesquita and wife Kristi, Connie Mesquita-Pena and husband Tony, Marylou Dishman and husband James and Joann Mesquita and husband Freddie Soto as well as grandchildren: Karissa, Meleena, Gino, Kandice, Greggory, George, Jeremiah, Xavier, Luke, Christian, Charlie, Christopher, Jestina and Gabriel and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Manuela Mesquita, step-daughter Isabelle Melendrez and grandson Joseph Melendrez.
