Ralph Proctor Morgan Jr.ZANESVILLE: Ralph Proctor Morgan Jr. passed away on September 3, 2015 at Arbors East Subacute and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on January 7, 1942 in Zanesville, Ohio to Ralph Morgan Sr. and Evelyn Wilkes Morgan. A lifelong resident of Zanesville, Ralph graduated from Zanesville High School in 1960. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University and his Master's Degree from Xavier University. Ralph was employed by Morgan Local Schools for 29 years. During the majority of those years he taught Spanish at Morgan High School where he afforded many students the opportunity to travel overseas. After retiring from Morgan, Ralph went on to teach at West Muskingum High School and later at Bishop Rosecrans High School. In the community Ralph was one of the original founders of the Ohio Educational Credit Union on Linden Ave. Additionally, he served as a board member of the Nelson T. Gant Foundation. For many years, Ralph operated a highly successful foreign exchange student business. He also served as a foster father for Muskingum County Children's Services.Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and a step-sister Joan Wilbrun. He is survived by wife Alpha Coles-Morgan; brother Michael (Gayle) Morgan; sister Connie Morgan Norman; step-sisters Judy Beachem and Jenny Williams; daughter Monica (Shawn) Morgan-Edmonds; son Ryan (Todd) Morgan; foster son Junior (Mary) Dixon; grandsons Malachi (Jennifer) Morgan and Wyatt Morgan; great-granddaughter Violette Morgan; nieces Karen (Carlos) McKee, Melanie (Carl) Newman, Alanna Morgan, Felicia (Mike) Marshall; nephews Michael Norman. Michael (Cheryl) Morgan, Tony Coles, Chad (Carol) Norman, Chris (Jane) Norman; as well as many great nieces and nephews.Memorial contributions may be made to: The Nelson T. Gant Foundation P.O. A memorial service will follow at 6pm in the Snouffer Chapel with Minister Roger Stowe officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
