Rachel Michell, 89, of Newark, New Jersey, passed on August 25, 2023. Rachel was born on April 12, 1950. Dear loved ones that preceded her in death: her Daughter, Chanda Mitchell; Her Sons, Rocky W. Mitchell, Levi S. Mitchell, and Charlie F. Mitchell; three brothers, Derick T. Mitchell, Roy Lee Mitchell and Charlie E. Mitchell; one sister, Malinda L. Mitchell; along with Grandchildren, Quincey I. O'Neal, Essence S. O'Neal, Jahim K. Michell, Travis R. Bell, and other family members that had a special place within her heart. Our dearest Mother was a loving daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Her presence in our lives will be missed more than we can say.

Rachel joined the Christian church in Cliffside Park, New Jersey early in her life. She was a faithful Usher for over 50 years. Rachel enjoyed listening to gospel music, dancing, and she was a great cook.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: one devoted daughter, Chanda Mitchell of Jersey City, NJ (a devoted son-in-law, Eon O'Neal) East Orange, NJ; four grandchildren, Quincey (Isaiah) O'Neal of Newark, NJ, Essence (Simone) O'Neal of Newark, NJ, Jahim Karon Mitchell Newark, NJ, and Travis (Richie) Bell Jersey City, NJ. (Three devoted Sons) Rocky (Winston) Mitchell Jersey City, NJ, Levi (Smith) Mitchell Jersey City, NJ, and Charlie (Jenkins) Mitchell Jersey City, NJ, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
