Polly J. Lawrence1925 - 2016Polly J. Lawrence, 91, formerly of Kenosha, late of LaCrosse, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at Bethany Riverside in LaCrosse.She was born on Feb. 16, 1925, to the late Edgar H. and Trannie H. (England) Gammon in Clinton, Tenn. On June 12, 1948, she married George N. Lawrence in Oak Ridge, Tenn. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1981.Polly worked as a nurse's aide at St. Catherine's Hospital for 30 years. After retirement she worked at KVNA for several years.Polly was involved with the Salvation Army while she was in Kenosha.Polly enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting. She enjoyed staying at home.Polly is survived by her children James Lawrence of LaCrosse, Karen (Earl) Welsh of Clearwater, Fla., Elizabeth (Claude) Brooks of Holland, Mich., and Marsha (Brian) Evans of Kenosha, her nine grandchildren and her three great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by a daughter Sharon Fortner.Funeral Services for Polly will be held on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 12 noon until the time of service.
