Placido Marquez, 58, a longtime resident of Serafina passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016.He was born on Sept. 18, 1957 to Herman Marquez and Justa Dimas Marquez in Las Vegas.He worked at the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute for 35 years. Placido enjoyed his grandkids, pets, spending time with his family and the outdoors, also an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He was very kind and compassionate.A Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas.He was preceded in death by his parents: Herman and Justa Marquez; mother and father-in-law: Luis and Marie Saavedra; paternal grandparents: Jose and Rita Marquez.He is survived by his wife Louise Marquez of the family home; son: Joseph Gallegos and wife Miranda of Bernal; daughter: Melissa Gallegos and companion Leonard of Las Vegas, NM; grandchildren: Marie Gallegos, Victor Pacheco and Jade Montoya; sister: Elaine Jaramillo and husband Anthony of Bernal; nieces: Antoinette Jaramillo and Michele Jaramillo; brothers-in-law: Herman Gallegos and wife Dolores of Las Vegas, NM; Raymond Gallegos of Sheep Springs, NM; Anthony Gallegos, Edward Saavedra (Roberta) all of Las Vegas, NM; sisters-in-law: Maxine Herrera of Las Vegas, NM; Dolores Gallegos (James) of Roy, NM; Geraldine Saavedra (Gilbert) of Las Vegas, NM; special cousins: Rumalda Perez and husband Geronimo of Denver, CO; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.Rosary service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 1:30 pm with Father Douglas Mitchell as Celebrant.
