Philomena (Mena) Tesone passed away on November 27, 2016 in Louisville. She was a lifelong resident of Louisville. Mena was born on October 21, 1915 to Robert and Carmen DiGiacomo. She was the youngest in her family. Mena married Fiori Tesone in 1936, and together they had four children. For 28 years, Mena worked at the Blue Parrot Restaurant. Mena volunteered for St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville. She was a member of the St. Louis Altar and Rosary Society, as well as the Italian Club. When you knocked on her door and she opened it, your heart was filled with joy because you know that inside was comfort, love, food and someone who was interested in your life. She always had time for her family and friends. Her strength will forever inspire her family. Her lasting legacy will be the love for her family. Mena was preceded in death by her husband Fiori Tesone, her parents, six brothers and sisters, two sons, one son-in-law, and one grandson. She is survived by her son Gary (Susan) Tesone, daughter Judy DeNovellis, dauther-in-law Janice Tesone, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 at St. Louis Catholic Parish in Louisville. Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m., and Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at the Louisville Cemetery. Guests are invited to a reception at the Blue Parrot Restaurant after the services have concluded. We will always miss you mom, grandma, and great-grandma because you were always there for your family. You are still with us in our hearts. We will love you forever.
