Philip Andrew ReedPhil Reed, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on February 22. He was a kind and thoughtful son, brother and father - and was well loved by his large extended family, particularly his many cousins, nephews and nieces.Phil was born on December 3, 1961 in Fort Worth, Texas. This is the only possible explanation for his life-long passion for the Dallas Cowboys. His baseball team was more rational, rooting for the Cardinals. He loved the History Channel, the Science Channel and he also loved visiting the beach. Phil graduated from Glendale High School and Missouri State University with a degree in Sociology. He spent most of his working career at St. John's Hospital and at Walmart. Surviving him are his mother, Sue Reed and his son, Austin Barnett, both of Springfield. His four brothers, Doug (Chapel Hill, NC), Paul (Chicago, IL), John (Laguna Nigel, CA) and James (Oslo, Norway).Funeral services will be held at Greenlawn South at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 25, 2017 with burial at Hazelwood Cemetery.
