Penelope "Penny" RushPenelope "Penny" Sue Rush, 71, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in St. Mary's Healthcare.She was born on March 14, 1946 in Lafayette to Marvin E. and Arnetta F. Hollis. Penny graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School in 1964.Her marriage was to Richard Rush in 1965 and they later divorced.Penny worked for Fairfield Inn as the breakfast hostess, retiring in 2010. She had previously worked as a CNA and in private nursing care.She was a faithful member of St. Mary Cathedral. Penny enjoyed reading, swimming, boating, and spending time with her grandchildren.Surviving are her father, Marvin E. Hollis of Lafayette; her children, Rick (Denise) Rush of Indianapolis and Ryan (Rebecca) Rush of Lafayette; and her brother, Terry A. Hollis of Lafayette. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Bryan, Nicholas, Rachel, and Jacob.She was preceded in death by her mother, Arnetta "Arni" F. Shoaf Hollis Bakner.Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Mary 12, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary Cathedral with Father Jeff Martin officiating.
