Penelope Weaver Kirkwood Age 70, affectionately known as "Penny," departed this life on March 21, 2017 in Anchorage, Alaska. Penny was born on March 7, 1947 in Tacoma, Washington to the late Jesse Leroy Hemphill, Sr. and Opal Eloise Foster. Throughout her amazing life Penny was instrumental in providing hope and inspiration to all of her clients. She was a devoted care provider throughout Anchorage. Her tireless efforts provided families with a sense of peace, knowing that their loved ones were loved and taken care of during their difficult times. Penny will be remembered for her love, humor, friendship, love of books, and her triumph spirit over the last 15 months. Penny is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and a host of family and friends, including Joan and James Booth. Her homegoing and final service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017, 10 a.m., at Mountain View Funeral Home Memorial Park in Tacoma. Please see www.mountainviewtacoma.com for more information.
