Pauline DanylukAttended by loving family, Pauline Danyluk, 89, of Prince Albert, SK, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2016 at Diamond House care home in Warman, SK. A Prayer Service will be held at Fedusiak Funeral Chapel, Melfort, SK on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Gronlid, SK, on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Patrick Powalinsky will officiate. Pauline Wachniak was born on the family farm near Gronlid, SK on November 24, 1927. She spent most of her life in the Gronlid district. She married Stanley Danyluk on June 9, 1949. They were married 48 years. Pauline and Stanley owned and operated the M & S Store in Gronlid for 30 years. In 1978 they sold the store and worked in Waskesiu, SK for three summers. They relocated to Prince Albert in 1981. Widowed in 1987 Pauline was happy for the companionship of her special friend Peter Brezden (deceased 2011). Pauline lived independently in Prince Albert until August of this year when she fell ill. Pauline enjoyed being involved in her community and church in the Gronlid years. When she moved to Prince Albert in semi-retirement Pauline worked part time at Woolco and later at Sears. She also volunteered at Mont St. Joseph's nursing home. Pauline was an avid bowler, gardener, knitter and great home- maker. She enjoyed reading, card games and board games, jigsaw puzzles, and Facebook! Pauline will be dearly missed by her daughter Cathy (Nick) Ogren, and her son Terry (Laurie) and grandchildren; Michael (Laura), Greg, Leah (Cam). Pauline is also survived by her brother Walter (Elizabeth) Wachniak and sisters-in-law: Stella Wachniak, Anne Wachniak and Madeline Danyluk; along with several nieces and nephews. Pauline was predeceased by her husband and his parents: Onufrey and Maria, her parents Harry and Annie, a sister Katherine in infancy, her brothers and their spouses; Bill and Armand, Danny, and Mike Andrew and Lena; and a nephew Dennis (son of Andrew and Lena); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: John and Mary Danyluk, Eli Danyluk, Bill and Pauline Danyluk, Steve Danyluk, Sophie and Paul Yarmey. Pauline's family is very appreciative of the excellent care their mother/ grandmother received while at Diamond House in Warman in her final days. They are also very grateful for the family support and compassion. A special thank you is extended to Heather and her staff there. "Wish we could have had your love and guidance longer, but we are so grateful for the time we had". VICHNAYA PAMYAT.
