Paulette M. MortensenAvon, Utah - Paulette Miles Mortensen passed away at home on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, following a long and courageous battle with a rare autoimmune disease. She was born on May 19, 1954, in Logan, Utah. Paulette graduated from Sky View High School where she played flute and percussion in the band before marrying her devoted and loving husband, Chris Mortensen, her partner of nearly 42 years. She was adored by her patients and remains a legend in the Operating Room for her expertise and quick wit. Despite her physical beauty, Paulette was a competitive tomboy who could keep up with and oftentimes outdo boys and men. She loved the outdoors, riding horses, water and snow skiing, and was a member of the Beaver Mountain Ski Patrol for 15 years. Paulette was affectionately referred to as "Pearl" by her co-patrollers. She had a sharp, witty sense of humor and was the life of the party. Paulette had a great eye for and pride in keeping a beautiful home and garden.
