Paula Fay Williams (DeConge'), age 73, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born on April 7, 1952 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Aaron Barber and Mary Bowman.
Paula is preceded in death by her loving spouse Sylvester DeConge', sister Diane Barber, brother Arthur Barber and nephews Paul I. Barber and Brian K. Barber.
Paula is survived by her daughters, Tara D. McDade (spouse Dallas A McDade III) and Dana A. Williams (spouse Quincy Robertson), her seven grandchildren (oldest to youngest) Darius C. Scott, Zana L. Johnson, Jalen D. Mondane, Alayna T. Johnson, Chayna D. Johnson, DaLayna D. Johnson, and Darvey D. Robertson II, as well as her four great grandchildren (oldest to youngest) Taurian C. Scott, TaLaysia C. Scott, Bryson C. Scott and Joshua D. Coleman, brothers Michael Barber and Jeffrey Bowman, sister Elaine Johnson, niece/daughter Teia Barber-Dayries and special sister-in-law Odette DeConge' Board as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was baptized at an early age at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
She attended Capital Senior High School and graduated in 1970. Paula worked at Hillhaven Nursing Home and St. James Retirement Community as a certified nursing assistant as well as Triple A Cleaners and Highland Road Cleaners as a presser throughout her career.
In her free time, Paula enjoyed cooking, dancing, entertaining, and caring for her family.
Paula will be remembered for her warm smile, generous spirit and love for her family and friends.
