Paul Smith, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 8, 2026, in Collins, Georgia, at the age of 81. Born on May 29, 1944, to Leon and Martice B Dawson Smith, Paul lived a full and adventurous life.

Paul was a graduate of Appling County High School, class of 1962, and went on to earn a degree from Clark University in 1965. He served his country proudly as a member of the US Army, retiring in 1985.

When he wasn't working, Paul could often be found indulging in his favorite hobby of fishing. He found peace and joy by the water, and his family fondly remembers the many stories he would tell about his fishing adventures.

Paul is survived by his loving partner, Miriam Collins Smith, their children Salvatore Hart and Alicia Sharpe (spouse Timothy Sharpe), and his seven adoring grandchildren. Paul's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Paul's passing was due to common illnesses, but he will always be remembered for his infectious laughter, kind spirit, and unwavering love for his family. Rest in peace, Paul Smith.
